Got an error code that just won’t go away? We can help! Upfront e-bike Diagnostic Check for Shimano and Bosch system-based E-Bikes. Whether it’s power cut out, a battery problem or a motor fault – we will system check your e-bike, diagnose and set out what repair costs you are looking at, all for just £25. We’ll always contact you before any further work.

Shimano Steps & Bosch E-Bike Diagnostics Check & System Flash Update
Let’s go deeper – where we can we will print out our diagnostic and safely flash the firmware, which sorts many of the error codes and issues the diagnostics report has identified. So, if it’s just firmware/software issues, this might be enough to get you back on the road! (however not all faults can be resolved with software alone).
£35 (or £10 in addition to the initial diagnostic)
Van Moof, Rock Machine + Frappe Sports Drive, Boost and Unbranded – Ebike Diagnostic & Flash
A deeper system-level assessment for ongoing or intermittent issues. This includes extended fault code analysis, sensor and connection checks, system health review, and practical ride-testing where appropriate. Best suited to power cut-outs, inconsistent assistance, unexplained battery drain, or repeat faults on the less accessible E-Bike drive systems that are out there. Though not guaranteed, there is a good chance we can resolve a system or basic physical electrical problem with this diagnostic sweep, older or unsupported systems may have limited diagnostic access.

Every full e-bike service we offer includes a complete diagnostic check, firmware status review, and system report (where supported). And of course, our usual thorough approach to our legendary mechanicals services applies too.
E-Bike Disc Brake Modfather Service
Our core annual service for disc-brake e-bikes, designed for real-world commuting and utility use.
Includes
—Full e-bike diagnostic check (Bosch - Shimano – Van Moof – Boost – Mahle – Sport Drive where supported)
—System flash / firmware update check
—Diagnostic report or system log where available
—Inspection of motor mounts, battery interfaces, wiring and sensors
—Full mechanical service: drivetrain clean setting and adjustment, brake inspection and adjustment
—Bearing checks and replacement when required (headset, hubs, bottom bracket where accessible)
—Bolt torque verification, full safety inspection, required parts detailed and when approved fitted.
This service ensures your e-bike is mechanically sound and electronically healthy — not one without the other.
Best for: Regularly used commuter e-bikes and everyday riders who want reliability rather than reactive repairs.

E-Bike Rim Brake Modfather Service
The same workshop-led approach as the disc version, adapted for rim-brake e-bike systems.

—Full mechanical service tailored to rim-brake systems
—Safety, torque and wear checks throughout

E-Bike Disc Brake Real McHoy Service
Our most comprehensive e-bike service — for high-mileage, heavy-use or neglected e-bikes. This service is about restoring total confidence in both the electronics and the mechanics, not just ticking boxes – your bike should come back better than new!

—Firmware update / system flash included where applicable
—Diagnostic report or system log provided
—Deeper electrical inspection with extended ride-testing
—Full mechanical strip-down where appropriate
—Full Hydraulic brake servicing (including bleeds if required)
—Wheel truing, bearing assessment and full safety sign-off
Best for: Cargo bikes, e-MTBs, delivery bikes, or any e-bike that’s doing serious work.

All the depth of the Real McHoy service, tailored for rim-brake e-bike systems.
